AFA Supports Discussion on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality

Equal opportunities: Accountancy as a diverse and inclusive profession

AFA together with ACCA and the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants organised a webinar to discuss the issue of diversity, inclusion, and equality from the perspective of ASEAN accountants, represented by a panel of distinguished women in leadership positions: Professor Nunuy Nur Afiah (Council Member, IAI), Indah Budiani (Executive Director, Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development), Henny Dewanto (Partner, ShineWing Indonesia), Dr. Estelita C. Aguirre (President, AFA 2014-2015), and Rachel Chee (Regional Education Consultant, ACCA). The discussion was based on ACCAs Leading Inclusion Report.

As highlighted in the report, anyone can contribute to promotion of diversity, inclusion, and equality in their environment such as by taking the time to appreciate diversity, understanding the diversity goals of the organisation and how these align to the business goals, and welcoming different ideas and supporting their implementation.

The 2-hour webinar was attended by close to 500 participants.
